The committee meeting addressed a resident's request for a waiver of the insurance requirement for a road occupancy permit concerning boulevard landscaping. Key discussion topics included the challenges residents face in naming the city as an additional insured on standard homeowner policies, inconsistencies in the enforcement of boulevard encroachment bylaws across the city, and the potential need for a more practical policy approach to minor encroachments. Staff clarified the existing permit framework and the city's risk management rationale behind current requirements.
The council held a statutory public meeting regarding a proposed zoning bylaw amendment for 1201 Edgar Road. The discussion centered on aligning current zoning with historical permissions, specifically addressing height restrictions, setbacks, and parking requirements to facilitate an industrial expansion project for ES Fox Limited.
