Legislative actions included approving a modification to the city code regarding petition timelines for the planning and zoning commission, increasing the speed limit on Walden Road, and authorizing the fire department to bill for emergency services provided to non-residents for specific incidents like motor vehicle accidents and hazardous material responses. Additionally, the council approved a one-year extension for the North Hills subdivision preliminary plat, adjusted the nuisance code regarding grass height hearings from 'shall' to 'may' to provide operational flexibility, and adopted updated sewer code provisions to align with state regulations. Finally, the council initiated the repeal of a city code section regarding the planning and zoning commission's authority to grant variances, citing a conflict with state statutes.
