This specification covers a series of environmentally resistant electrical cables and connectors based on the USB Type-C ® specification, called USB-C Military (USB-CM). The connectors designated herein are intended to meet all the performance requirements of the USB Type-C ® cables and connectors commercial specification and are enhanced to operate under extreme environmental and temperature conditions required for US Department of War use. Where a conflict between the Type-C ® specification and this document exists, the specification in this document shall take precedence. See 6.1 for intended use, application notes, application restrictions, and derating factors.

The socks are over-the-calf length with cushioning comfort to protect the wearer from hot spots, pressure points, and blisters when wearing combat boots, and they provide graduated compression to promote blood flow from the foot with a non-slip top cuff opening. The foot of each sock includes contouring for the sock to stay in place without bunching, arch support, a gore heel and toe for improved fit, and nylon reinforcement at the heel and toe for durability.
