Provide a community engagement campaign specifically related to emerging industries in the planning field. There are several new categories of land uses that are increasing in development nationwide. This community engagement effort is intended to identify these uses and engage the Edgerton residents regarding challenges and opportunities around these emerging industries. These emerging industries could include, but are not limited to, uses such as data centers, battery energy storage systems, energy production facilities and vertical farming. The primary objective of this work is to develop a list of the emerging industries, engage the community to develop common understanding of these industries, identify concerns and opportunities related to these developments, and identify the cross-cutting themes from the public engagement campaign.
